Please treat this house as a private residence. We are not a guesthouse. The appliances, fixtures, and floors are designer, expensive, natural, and authentic. For example, the floor is real wood made from chestnut trees. Do not get them wet or they will be damaged. Also tatami require additional care. If either the chestnut flooring or the tatami gets wet, please immediately clean it up with a towel in order to prevent damage.
The furniture is old, some pieces are over 130 years old, and it’s expensive. The tea ceremony shelf alone is over $2000.
We would be very happy that you and your group can enjoy the fantastic furniture and character our house has to offer, but please do not place glasses on the old furniture or get them wet and allow water stains to form.
Some furniture is being offered for sale. Please send me an email inquiry if interested.
